The beta is live on Google Play and anyone can join it. It takes three steps and about two minutes. Here they are.

Android, public launch

This autumn on Google Play. Join the list below and you get one email the day it is out, nothing before and nothing after.

iPhone & iPad

Android comes first. If it goes well there, an iPhone and iPad version is next: same app, same rules, no account needed.

Desktop & sync

Coming later. Sync will be opt-in and end-to-end encrypted, so your phone and laptop share one history that nobody else can read, including us.

Be a tester

Get Todoku now, in three steps

Todoku is in a closed test on Google Play. Google needs twelve people testing it for fourteen days before it can go public. You can be one of them, and the app is yours to keep either way.

  1. Join the testers group. groups.google.com/g/todoku-testers Google may show you a page saying you do not have permission. That is normal. Click "Join group" on it.
  2. Opt in to the test. play.google.com/apps/testing/app.todoku Use the same Google account you joined the group with.
  3. Install it, and keep it. Get Todoku on Google Play Open it every few days and stay opted in for fourteen days. That is the part Google counts.
Do step one first. Joining the group is what unlocks the download, so the Play link will not work before that.

Asked fairly often

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works without one. An optional account is coming whose only job is syncing your data between devices. Skip it and nothing is held back.

How do I pay for Pro without signing up?

Through Google Play, using the Google account already on your phone. Play takes the payment, keeps the receipt and restores Pro automatically on a new phone. Todoku never sees your card.

What happens when I lose my phone?

Todoku writes a weekly backup file to your Downloads automatically, and you can export one any time, optionally locked with a password. Restore it on the new phone and everything comes back, photos included. Pro adds daily on-device restore points for the smaller disasters, and optional sync will keep a second device current.

Can I use it on more than one device?

Today: export on one, import on the other. Honest but manual. An optional account with end-to-end encrypted sync is coming as a Pro feature to keep your devices current. The rest of the app never asks you to sign in.

How do you make money without selling data or showing ads?

Pro subscriptions. That's the whole business model, and it only works if the free app is good enough that you'd tell a friend about it.

Can I bring my data from another app?

Yes: TickTick task backups, Daylio mood exports and any bank's CSV import directly. More importers as people ask.
